Take a Technical Safari

Rockwell Collins was founded by Art Collins, a dedicated Radio Amateur. This tradition of exploration of radio science is carried on by the Rockwell Collins Amateur Radio Club (RCARC) with the radio call sign of W5ROK (read more about our club at our website: http://w5rok.us/)

With the recent elimination of the Morse code telegraphy requirement for licensing by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) many individuals have expressed an interest in getting their Radio Amateur "Ham" license. They want to get on the air, join the RCARC, and participate in the literally thousands of things radio amateurs do from two-way satellite communications to public service emergency communications to contesting of all sorts.

So a FREE course (optional text book $25) is being offered by the club to encourage as many employees and their family members (age 14 and above) as possible to become Radio Amateurs. These courses will normally be offered during the lunch period (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM), but evening classes are being considered, depending on demand. The first course will start Tuesday, November 27, 2007 in Building 460.

It is first come, first served, so sign up now! You can sign up for a course by sending an e-mail to Mike Hollingsworth (mike.hollingsworth@sbcglobal.net).
